About this excursion
Escape to one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful Caribbean destinations on our Saona Island Classic Excursion from Punta Cana. This full-day adventure combines white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water, tropical scenery, a natural swimming pool, Dominican food, refreshing drinks, and an unforgettable combination of speedboat and catamaran cruising.
Your day begins with round-trip transportation from your Punta Cana hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Travel south toward the charming fishing village of Bayahibe, the main departure point for excursions to Saona Island.
Once you arrive in Bayahibe, your Caribbean adventure begins. Board a speedboat and cruise across the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea toward Saona Island. Along the way, enjoy incredible coastal views and a stop at the famous Natural Swimming Pool, a shallow sandbank surrounded by warm, transparent turquoise water.
The natural pool is one of the highlights of the Saona Island experience. Take time to swim, relax, take photographs, and enjoy the tropical surroundings. Starfish may sometimes be seen in this protected marine area and should be admired without removing them from the water.
After the natural pool, continue toward Saona Island, part of Cotubanamá National Park and one of the Dominican Republic’s most iconic tropical destinations.
Upon arrival, you will have plenty of free time to enjoy the island at your own pace. Walk along the powdery white-sand beach, swim in calm Caribbean water, relax beneath the palm trees, explore the shoreline, or simply enjoy the peaceful island atmosphere.
Families can enjoy the shallow water and spacious beach, while guests looking for relaxation can find a chair, enjoy a refreshing drink, and take in the spectacular Caribbean scenery.
A Dominican-style buffet lunch will be served on the island, giving you an opportunity to enjoy local flavors before continuing your beach time. Drinks are available during the excursion according to the tour's beverage service.
In the afternoon, begin the return journey aboard a spacious catamaran. Relax on deck, enjoy Caribbean music, feel the ocean breeze, and admire the coastline as you cruise back toward Bayahibe.
Once back on the mainland, your transportation will be waiting to return you safely to your Punta Cana resort.
